Snapshots of a city across a century — the stories a city could tell!  How would London’s visual history differ from say, Denver’s?  Like people, a city has its own imprint or visual ‘footprint.’

We look for different markers, our eyes, that is.  Mine seem to search for public art and what they tell about a city’s past (see image Left).  And a city’s topography, geography, climate, and natural resources reveal a lot about man’s efforts to alter or manage itself (see image Center).  And when we look up to the edifices of our imagination, what murmurs in our minds?

What happened here?  Where is this place of such color and texture?
